New Union work in the south Balkans

During the majority of May and June we spent most of our time in the South Balkans working in beautiful Albania, North Macedonia and Kosovo.

We are still really busy going through all of the feedback but we thought we’d share a little bit of what we were up to.

Kosovo:

We spent a week in the lovely capital of Prinstina working with Open Data Kosovo to conduct a policy hackathon on how we can create better coperateive relations with between governemt and civil sector.

North Macedonia:

In Skopje we attended the North Macedonia Open Data Conference which was faciltaed by the Metamorphosis Foundation, the countries leading social foundation.

Here, people from all over the Balkans attended the conference and we facilitated a special workshop on communicating open data to third sector organisaions.

Albania:

Nathan was in Tirana to talk at OSCAL (Open Source Conference Albania) on some of our work and the caps we have in regards to open data outreach, he also held a workshop at Open Labs Hackspace in the city.

In the next few weeks we’ll prepare a blog for each country detailing all of the work and in interest of open source, we’ll share all of the data from the activitites.
